My love of the outdoors started in college when I took a kayaking class to eke out some elective hours. Though we learned the basics in the university’s Olympic-sized pool, graduation from the class (and a guaranteed A) meant going on a weekend-long kayaking adventure with the professor and all of my classmates. After a weekend of kayak camping along the Cache La Poudre River in Colorado, I was hooked. I came away from the weekend feeling refreshed and inspired, and couldn’t wait for the next time to put my paddle in the water. Today, I still love kayaking, but I’ll do just about anything that gets me outside – skiing, hiking, climbing, camping, backpacking; all passions which my husband fortunately shares as well.
Kayak Photo is dedicated to capturing my favorite moments from my outdoor adventures, a collection of photographs that has especially grown over the last couple of years as we’ve toured the country in our Airstream. In addition to photography as a hobby, I’ve started taking up freelance gigs that enable me the freedom of traveling. My husband is also untethered, working for himself as a freelance writer. We think our life is pretty awesome, and we’re excited that we get to share it with our blog readers.
